Hanging Light in Brussels Expo Style (c. 1960)

Complete hanging light from around 1960, made in the style of Brussels design. The dominant element is a hand-blown, thick-walled glass shade – clear glass layered with colorful spots, decorated with a white glass “thread,” and finished with a matte surface that gives it an elegant texture. The glass body measures 32 cm in height, approx. 21 cm in diameter, with a top opening of about 1.5 cm and a bottom opening of about 9 cm.

The metal part with suspension, rod, and ceiling mount is original and complete, including the electrical wiring. The piece has a highly decorative appearance and is a typical example of Czechoslovak modernism inspired by the Brussels World’s Fair.
